I'm reading and watching too much lately. I figure I need to put my thoughts down or they'll just escape from me.

First one, Gone Girl.
This is a movie shot by David Fincher ,who is pretty awesome. The female protagonist is the girl starring Jane in Pride and Prejudice. And it's said that she was born in Oxford and graduated from Oxford University with a bachelor's degree of English literature. And listen to her, and you can barely tell that she is a British!

And Ben Affleck. He, with Matt Damon is the playwright of Good Will Hunting. And he is even the director of Argo, which won him the Oscar Award for Best Movie. And above all, he is sooo damn hot!

First saw the name and the movie poster, I literally didn't think about that much. I just reckon this is about a husband looking for his missing wife, and expressing his affections for her.

Get back to the plot. At first, when the wife is gone, I really think that the female protagonist, a.k.a. "the Amazing Amy" is the normal sort of American Honey, who is simply been kidnapped or gets into something complicated. It never occurred to me that she is sooo good that she plots everything in such a perfect manner.

But it still confuses me that why need she kill Collins? Why bother? Just to teach Nick a lesson? For her later telling him "I killed for you. How many people can say that?"? Every time I feel like this is gonna end, Fintcher'd show me something astonishing, like she killed Collins during their coitus, and after that she comes back to Nick. I'd say it's the brilliance of Fincher. Nick, like us audience, knows little about his wife, and as the scroll of the whole movie unfolds, we know things and he learns things. It's pretty weird that he'd say that he'd take responsibility of that baby, and stop behaving as he used to. Like people always say, marriage makes people grow up. But the cost...
Before Amy's missing, Amy is humble. Maybe it's their argument about having baby that sets her in such a dangerous state of mind. Maybe she feels she needs to take some actions. But this is a cruel story. Their dying marriage slit the throat of a innocent man who really intends to help Amy! And the most intimidating part of this story is that Amy isn't arrested for her murder. And all these u-gotta-be-kidding-me stuff are done in such a calm state of mind, which set me thinking in what level of desperation is she would she do so many crazy things. And that cat, it's said that it is a symbol of Amy. She left but it is here, so is she controlling the whole game. I can picture Nick's latter half of life, living in threats and "under the thumb" of his wife, a psychopath endeavoring to be discerned as American honey. No more freedom.
